I'll admit that my expectations were low, and it didn't help that every other seat in the cinema was empty on a cheap Tuesday night; however, I was definitely surprised at how immersed I had become, which is partly due to me being unfamiliar with the cast.

Unlike the apartment scene in Fury (2014) that dragged on for what seemed like forever, Overlord kept me at the edge of my seat with suspense. Overlord, with its fantastic visuals and gunfire sound effects isn't perfect, but it's definitely a lot more than the campy "B" movie that I had first thought it would be. I definitely recommend checking it out on the big screen, unless you're squeamish.
